Tumakuru, Karnataka – In a commendable effort to promote oral health awareness among young children, Sri Siddhartha Dental College, in collaboration with the Former Sargantines Association, conducted a free oral health camp for students of Bishop Sargant School. The camp, held on January 20th and 21st, 2025, aimed to provide essential dental care and education to approximately 900 students aged 10 to 13 years.

A team of six dedicated dental doctors from Sri Siddhartha Dental College conducted the camp, providing free oral health screenings for all participating students. The camp also included valuable oral hygiene education sessions with practical demonstrations to help students understand proper brushing and flossing techniques.

To further encourage students to prioritize their oral health, each participant received a camp card that entitles them to a concession on dental treatments at Sri Siddhartha Dental College.

The camp was supervised by Dr. Meghana Vishwanath, Joint Secretary of the Former Sargantines Association. The initiative received strong support from the association’s Board Members, including President A M Florence, Secretary Ravi Sagar S, Joint Secretary Ramya A, and Treasurer Narasimha Pai Kasturi. The Working Committee members, Dr. Fathma Zohra, Dr. Harshitha, Preeja and Suchethan R, also played a crucial role in the success of the camp.

This collaborative effort between Sri Siddhartha Dental College and the Former Sargantines Association serves as an excellent example of how community engagement can significantly impact the oral health of young children. By providing access to essential dental care and education, the camp empowers students to make informed choices about their oral health and maintain healthy smiles throughout their lives.
